Marion Cotillard  is a French actress. She garnered critical acclaim for her roles in films such as My Sex Life... or How I Got Into an Argument, Taxi, Furia, Pretty Things and Inception. She has also appeared in such films as Big Fish, A Very Long Engagement (for which she received a César Award for Best Supporting Actress), A Good Year, Public Enemies, Nine and La Vie En Rose.

She won the Academy Award for Best Actress, BAFTA Award for Best Actress, César for Best Actress and the Golden Globe for Best Actress in Musical or a Comedy for her portrayal of French singer Édith Piaf in La Vie en Rose. She made film history by becoming the first person to win an Academy Award for a French language performance. In 2010 she received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the musical Nine.

Career

After small appearances and performances in theater, Cotillard had occasional and minor roles in television series such as Highlander, but her career as a film actress began in the mid-1990s with small but noticeable roles in such films as Arnaud Desplechin's My Sex Life... or How I Got Into an Argument. Cotillard appeared in the comedy film La belle verte, directed by Coline Serreau. Then came her breakthrough out of cinephiles' circles when she starred in Gérard Pirès's action comedy Taxi. In the film, she plays Lili Bertineau who becomes Daniel's girlfriend. Cotillard reprised the role in two sequels. She then ventured into anticipation science fiction with Alexandre Aja's Furia (1999).
Cotillard appeared in Pierre Grimblat's film Lisa as Young Lisa, alongside Jeanne Moreau, Swiss novel-adaptation War drama In The Highlands. She starred in Gilles Paquet-Brenner's film Les jolies choses, adapted from the work of subversive feminist writer Virginie Despentes. In the drama, Cotillard portrayed the characters of two twins of completely opposite characters, Lucy and Marie. She was nominated for a César Award for her performance. In Guillaume Nicloux's thriller Une affaire privée she appeared as Clarisse, friend of the disappeared.

Biography
Eva Gaëlle Green (French pronunciation: [ɛva ɡʁeːn];  is a French actress, raised in Paris and living partly in London. She has been noted by Vogue for her "killer looks, intelligence and modesty", and described by The Independent as "gothic, quirky, and sexy".

The daughter of actress Marlène Jobert, Green performed in theatre before making her film debut in The Dreamers (2003), which generated controversy over her numerous nude scenes. She achieved greater fame for her parts in Kingdom of Heaven (2005), and in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale, for which she won a BAFTA. She has also modeled for numerous brands.

Career

At 17, Green enrolled at St. Paul Drama School in Paris for three years, and then spent 10 weeks at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Green stated that at drama school, "I always picked the really evil roles. It's a great way to deal with your everyday emotions." Green trained at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, before she returned to Paris, where she performed in several plays. Green was nominated for a Molière Award for her performance in Jalousie en Trois Fax.
Director Bernardo Bertolucci discovered Green in 2002, and found her "so beautiful, it's indecent". She accepted his invitation to star in The Dreamers (2003), despite her parents' initial objections because of Maria Schneider's accounts of being traumatized while filming Bertolucci's Last Tango in Paris. Green performed extensive nude scenes, which she said felt natural on set, although she was embarrassed when her family saw the film. Her performance was well received, with some comparing her to Liv Tyler. Green expressed surprise when a minute was cut from the film for the American market, as "there is so much violence, both on the streets and on the screen. They think nothing of it. Yet I think they are frightened by sex." Green followed up The Dreamers with Arsène Lupin (2004), in the light-hearted part of a love interest which she said she had fun playing, even though she generally prefers more complex parts.



Her performance in The Dreamers convinced Ridley Scott to cast Green in Kingdom of Heaven (2005), a film about the Crusades where she played Sibylla of Jerusalem. Green performed six screen tests, and was hired with only a week before principal photography began. Green found the atmosphere of coming onto a film so late tense and exciting, and also liked the film's ambiguity in approaching its subject matter.

Green portrayed the witch Serafina Pekkala in the 2007 film adaptation of The Golden Compass (coincidentally, it also starred Casino Royale's Daniel Craig, although they did not have any scenes together).

In addition to her acting career, Green has modeled for Breil, Emporio Armani, Lancôme, Heineken, and Christian Dior SA's "Midnight Poison" perfume, in an advert directed by Wong Kar-wai. She followed in her mother's footsteps by supporting Unicef. She has also expressed interest in returning to the theatre, and has no plans to go to work in Hollywood because, "The problem with Hollywood is that the studios are super powerful, they have far more power than the directors. My ambition at this moment is just to find a good script." She added she would probably just get typecast as a femme fatale there.
Green will star in Starz's ten-part series, Camelot, as the sorceress Morgana.

Julie Delpy (born December 21, 1969) is a French-American actress, director, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter. She studied filmmaking at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and has directed, written, and acted in more than 30 films including Europa Europa, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and 2 Days in Paris. After moving to the U.S., she became an American citizen.

Film career

At age 14, Delpy obtained a role in the film Détective, directed by Jean-Luc Godard. Two years later, Delpy was cast in the title role in the 1987 film La Passion Béatrice (Beatrice) and used the money she earned to pay for her first trip to New York City. Delpy continued to make regular trips to New York during the next few years, before finally moving there in 1990. She became an international celebrity after starring in the 1990 film Europa Europa. In the film, she plays a pro-Nazi girl, Leni, who falls in love with the hero, Solomon Perel, not knowing that he is Jewish. She had to speak fluent German for the part.
Delpy was subsequently given offers to appear in several Hollywood and European films. In 1993, she was cast by director Krzysztof Kieślowski to play the female lead in Three Colors: White, the second film of Kieślowski's Trois Couleurs trilogy; Delpy also briefly appeared in the other films in the series in the same role.
Since then, she has starred in many American and European productions, including Disney's The Three Musketeers (1993) and Killing Zoe (1994). Delpy may be best-known internationally for her co-starring role with Ethan Hawke in director Richard Linklater's 1995 film, Before Sunrise. The film received glowing reviews and was considered one of the most significant films of the 1990s independent film movement. Its success led to the casting of Delpy in the 1997 American film, An American Werewolf in Paris
In late 2001, she filmed alongside comedian Martin Short for the 30-minute film of CinéMagique, a theatre-show attraction presented several times daily at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Resort Paris. Delpy attended the March 2002 opening of the park and the inauguration of the film-based attraction which sees her star as Marguerite – a female actress with whom Short's character, George, falls in love as he stumbles through countless classic movies. CinéMagique won the coveted 2002 Themed Entertainment Association award for "outstanding" themed attraction. Delpy reprised her Before Sunrise character, Céline, with a brief animated appearance in 2001's Waking Life, and again in a 2004 sequel, Before Sunset. The later film was well-received and earned Delpy, who co-wrote the script, her first Academy Award nomination for Writing Adapted Screenplay. In addition, she has been nominated for César Awards three times.
